Hi, I recently bought an aspire 5742 and have now got a new usb3 external drive, I am looking at connecting via a pci or express slot adaptor but cant find either, is there any way to connect the usb3 device to this laptop?

Acer Multi Media care reader is best card reader made with latest technique. It's really gives Acer a latest look.
No, the video cannot be upgraded as there is no port for a video card to plug in on the motherboard. The video on this laptop is in the CPU itself so it can only be upgraded by changing the CPU to another one with integrated video, which is pointless. It does not have the power to play games of the Call Of Duty quality at any decent frame rate. It will play dragon age origins (VERY SLOWLY) but will not play dragon age II unless you enjoy playing games at 3 frames a minute.

I found my 5742 in a garbage can at a bus stop in British Columbia. I had to buy a power cord for it. For the money I spent, it was well worth it.
How do I get the microphone to work? When connected to skype other person cant hear me.
